Are Things Out Of Control ?
We like to be in control. It's a good feeling. Even when we're praying, reading our Bibles and trusting in the Lord, we still feel like we're in control of our lives to some degree and it's up to us to figure things out and make things happen.
"God gave you a brain, so use it" is a popular quote. "God's helps those who help themselves" is another one. But neither of these are found anywhere in the Bible because that's not the way God wants us thinking. Proverbs 3:5-6 says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and don't lean upon your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths."
In order for us to learn this, God will sometimes derail everything in our lives and throw us into a no-win situation so that we have no choice left but to trust Him and ONLY Him. Those are the moments when we find out who we really are and who God really is.
